Il était une voix is a comic that aims to question our model of society, created by Cultures&Santé in partnership with EYAD. The 15 stories it contains were told by women and men enrolled in a French as a foreign language course: tales they or those close to them had lived as experiences of inequality or unfairness.
These inequalities are found in many aspects of our lives. They are divided thematically into four categories: employment, health care, school and housing. I drew the eight stories regarding employment and housing, while fellow artist Marina Le Floch illustrated health care and school.
During the months leading to the publishing of the book, the stories along with supplementary ressources were gradually released on the website iletaitunevoix-bd.be.
